Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week I have to tell you how proud I was of our children during our lockdown. They were SO great and took the situation seriously. It was a long time (25 minutes) for us to sit quietly on the floor in our room. We were all very happy when it was over but behaved beautifully and were all brave.  I loved my time with each of your children on Monday during 1-1 assessments. What a blessing for them to show me all they have learned! I look forward to discussing results with you and your child during conferences. I will schedule them asap.  I have placed our November calendars in the students' cubbies to go home tomorrow. I typically put them into folders but am not going to be at school to do that this week. Please look them over and slide them into the back pocket of your child's Take Home Folder.  Now that the weather is more like fall, please be sure your child has adequate ou...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week We had a beautiful day for our trip to Bumbleberry Acres! It was a bit muddy, but the day was crisp and everyone had a great time! I hope your child told you all about the farm and all we did there.  Thank you for helping with and sending back the "Clock" homework. Each child gave a brief report using the document camera and microphone. It was fun to hear all the places clocks are found in our homes. There is still time for your child to return his/her Clock sheet. It is fun to give the children an opportunity to do some Public Speaking 😊. Now that the weather is more like fall, please be sure your child has adequate outdoor clothing each day. We go outside 3 times a day and we want all the children to be comfortable. Thank you. Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ___________________________...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It was a good, quick week in kindergarten. The students have been introduced to and used several of the apps available on our iPads. These iPads are brand new this year and are working well. Ask your child what he/she has done on the iPads lately.  We had our 2nd Fire Drill last week. Our first one was during our Music time, so this was the first time we were able to go to our designated spot on the track. All did well and understand that this is a serious time and we must be on the group plan to keep us all safe. I was very proud of our kiddos 👏.
