Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week We had 2 days this week with all students in attendance! That is quite an accomplishment during this germ-filled season we are in. We always celebrate when everyone is here. That is the best!! We are learning about digraphs during our reading block. That is when 2 letters make 1 sound, like ch, th, sh and wh. Ask your child to tell you about them and maybe even give you some words that have them. You may be surprised! Please be sure to work on the 100th day project for Monday. Each child will give an oral report of his/her project. I can't wait to see them! Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ______________________________ ______________________________ __ Snack and Leaders Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Our 2 day week sure went quickly! It was fun sharing the excitement of our snow days with each other. I think we were all happy to be in school on Thursday and Friday 😊. I sent home information on our 100th Day of School celebration Friday. Please be sure to look it over and reach out with any questions. This is such a fun day and a big accomplishment for all. The project is designed to show our kinders what 100 of something looks like. It is the hope that your child will do most of it with your guidance. The counting should be done by the students as well as the project itself. Thank you for making this a learning and confidence building experience for your child.  We took the Math NWEA Friday morning and only have a couple to make up. They are troopers while taking these assessments. The ones we take are for K-2, so the more difficult questions they answer correctly, the more...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Wow, happy snow days to all! I hope you enjoyed the extra-extended weekend with your kiddos and stayed safe and warm throughout. ❆❅❄ Our time with the SJHS HOSA Future Health Professionals was SO good! The students loved it and learned new things  at each station. The high schoolers did a beautiful job of showing our students how each stage of "diagnosis" works. Each child was given the opportunity to work on/heal his/her stuffy. See my post in the Brown School PTO fb page for photos.  We finished our Language Arts NWEA assessment last week and the children did a nice job. Math will be this week.  Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ______________________________ ______________________________ __ Snack and Leaders Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It was great to be together again after the long break. It was fun exchanging stories and connecting with similar experiences.  We were sad to hear that our Ernie has moved and is no longer in our class. We have missed him already and hope that he has a good start in his new town and new school. Our class now has 23 students. Last week we were given an age appropriate lesson on Safe Touch from the experts of the Children's Advocacy Center. Your child came home with a coloring book which gives parents the concepts and vocabulary used to teach this important subject. We are fortunate to have this resource. Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ______________________________ ______________________________ __ Snack and Leaders Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her l...
