Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Science Night was great! Several of our students attended and got to see what it is about. Our Evelyn and Odin had entries this year and enjoyed explaining their projects to judges who came from our high school science classes.  Each student did well during our Tornado drill on Wednesday afternoon. All the drills can be a bit uncomfortable, but we all understand the importance of practicing what to do "just in case."  Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ______________________________ ______________________________ __ Snack and Leaders Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's t...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It has been great getting to know Ember this week. She fits right in! One would never know she has only been at Brown for a week. She has been quick to make friends as well as learn our routines and procedures. 😊 I received every progress report envelope and we had 2 days that every child brought a water bottle last week! Thank you! The 5th grade performance was wonderful. 5th graders learn to play the ukelele. It amazes me how well they can play in such a short time. The songs they chose to play/sing were fun and kept us singing the rest of the day.  Never hesitate to email me ( l delapa@s jschools.org) with any questions you may have regarding any of our “kindergarten stuff.” ______________________________ ______________________________ __ Snack and Leaders Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day.       Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Last week was busy! We had a Fire Drill Monday morning during our Library time. It was good for the students to see how it works from a place other than our classroom. It was a bit chilly, but all did well.  On Thursday, your child came home with a nutrition chart to use and reuse at home. We had a fun and interesting lesson given by Taylor's mom, Mrs. Schueneman about the goal of "Eating the Rainbow." We learned that fruits and vegetables of diffferent colors give us different nutrients for our bodies. We also learned that our taste buds change every 10 days-2 weeks so we should continue to try foods often. It will be fun discussing who has been checking off the color foods eaten at school tomorrow. Your amazing children earned another 10 Class Paws Tickets to earn popsicles on Wednesday. You may think, as I did, that popsicles on a winter day would not be your choice. ❄ We brainstorm...

Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week The Variety Show was SO much fun on Wednesday! Our Brown School students are really talented. It was a pretty long  show and our kiddos were attentive the whole time. Be sure to ask your child to tell you about some of the acts.  Sunglasses day on Friday was fun too. The children enjoy being able to vote each time they receive Paws tickets for which way we will celebrate out great Bear behavior. We loved seeing everyone in school wearing the same SJ sunglasses.  The March leader and events calendars were placed in your child's folder on Wednesday. The March homework calendars went home that day too. February calendars are welcome to be returned anytime now. For those of you who have already sent yours, I am not able to get the February Book-It pizza certificates until March 1 or later. The expiration dates are pretty tight so I want to wait for the next month before pr...
