Last Week


Thank you for prioritizing the 100th day projects. 100% of the students brought one to school by Monday! I thing that may be a record. We had a fun day and enjoyed our celebration. Thank you to the parents who helped make this a special day for our children. 👏


We loved seeing the 1st grade program on Wednesday afternoon. They did a wonderful job! It is crazy to think that our kinders will be up there next year. Our. Music department is amazing and brings out the best in each child. They all have a great time performing too.

Snack and Leaders


Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to an allergy, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day (our lunch time is 12:25). It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week Events.


Our Positivity Project trait is Other People Matter-I will be present and give my attention to others.


I will be assessing my students 1-1 tomorrow. Mrs. Soyk will be our guest teacher. The class loves her, as do I 😊.


On Tuesday, February 11th our class will go ice skating from 11:15-12:15. If your availability has changed for this trip, please use the link below to indicate that.

Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Schroeder on February 12. Please come at 3:15 and bring 3-4 books. We are looking forward to our time with you.


On Monday I will send home the Valentines Day information. There is a very specific way we would like the children to address the valentines, so please don't work on them until after Monday. Please follow directions on the sheet for easy distribution by the children. They love doing this themselves. 

Please be sure to --

  • Send a leak-proof, water bottle each day
  • Dress your child for the weather of the day-snow pants, boots, hat and mittens
  • Empty your child's folder each day
  • Return Library books by Tuesday of each week.
  • Wear gym shoes each Friday for gym class.

Upcoming Events


Thursday and Friday, February 20, 21--1/2 day of school--Parent/Teacher conferences

I have reached out to all I would like to conference with. If you have not heard from me there is no need to schedule a

conference at this time.


Wednesday, February 26-Brown School Variety Show-We will travel to the high school to see the show in the morning. All

families are welcome to come at 5:30 that night.


Friday, February 28-1/2 day of school-End of Trimester 2

The expectation is that we hold conferences with 100% of our families. I appreciate that you all made that easy for me this year. I really enjoyed our time together. Our turkeys decorating the hallway look wonderful. Each one is unique and the entire Brown School family loves seeing each new one hung. If your child has not done one yet, there is still time.         Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It was great to be back together again this week. We enjoyed sharing how we spent our time off. We realized that we really missed each other. 😌 The class did a great job getting right back into the swing of our daily routines and procedures. They are acting like 1st graders more and more each day. 😃  There was an Exterior Lock Down drill on Thursday. It was during our Music time so it was good for our students to practice in a place other than our room.
