Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa


Last Week


We finished up Module 2 in our Language Arts curriculum, The Weather, last week. Your child will bring home his/her workbook for Modules 1 and 2 tomorrow. Take some time to look through it with your child. Many of the pages in the beginning are not done due to my many absences in the fall. It was not expected that our guest teachers do all of those lessons as we were all learning how to teach them ourselves. 


The Valentine's Day party was a huge success! There was love flowing all over the classroom. 💖 Thank you to the parents who made this happen for us. We appreciate you all so much! 



Thank you for sending your children with snow gear! We had 2 days this week with all students wearing snow pants, gloves/mittens, boots and warm coats! Thank you for your attention to this!

Snack and Leaders


Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to an allergy, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day (our lunch time is 12:25). It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week Events.


Our Positivity Project trait is Humor-We love to laugh and make others happy.


We will begin Module 3 in our Language Arts curriculum this week. As we begin, we will learn about living verses nonliving things. Our emphasis will be on trees as we move forward with more reading and writing 😍


Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Schueneman on February 19. Please come at 3:15 and bring 3-4 books. We are looking forward to our time with you.


Thursday and Friday are 1/2 days of school for conferencing. My conferences will be completed earlier in the week. I have been invited to spend a long weekend with dear friends in Florida the end of the week. Mrs. Soyk will be our guest teacher on Wednesday afternoon as well as Thursday and Friday mornings while I'm away. I am so thankful for her! She loves our kiddos and they certainly love her. 

Please be sure to --

  • Send a leak-proof, water bottle each day
  • Dress your child for the weather of the day-snow pants, boots, hat and mittens
  • Empty your child's folder each day
  • Return Library books by Tuesday of each week.
  • Wear gym shoes each Friday for gym class.

Wednesday, February 26-Brown School Variety Show-We will travel to the high school to see the show in the morning. All

families are welcome to come at 5:30 that night.

        Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Thank you all for making the effort to spend time together listening to, encouraging and loving on your children during our conferences. The expectation is that we hold conferences with 100% of our families. I appreciate that you all made that easy for me this year. I really enjoyed our time together. Our turkeys decorating the hallway look wonderful. Each one is unique and the entire Brown School family loves seeing each new one hung. If your child has not done one yet, there is still time.         Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It was great to be back together again this week. We enjoyed sharing how we spent our time off. We realized that we really missed each other. 😌 The class did a great job getting right back into the swing of our daily routines and procedures. They are acting like 1st graders more and more each day. 😃  There was an Exterior Lock Down drill on Thursday. It was during our Music time so it was good for our students to practice in a place other than our room.
