Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

Last Week

The Variety Show was SO much fun on Wednesday! Our Brown School students are really talented. It was a pretty long 

show and our kiddos were attentive the whole time. Be sure to ask your child to tell you about some of the acts. 

Sunglasses day on Friday was fun too. The children enjoy being able to vote each time they receive Paws tickets for which way we will celebrate out great Bear behavior. We loved seeing everyone in school wearing the same SJ sunglasses. 

The March leader and events calendars were placed in your child's folder on Wednesday. The March homework calendars went home that day too. February calendars are welcome to be returned anytime now. For those of you who have already sent yours, I am not able to get the February Book-It pizza certificates until March 1 or later. The expiration dates are pretty tight so I want to wait for the next month before printing them to send home.

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to an allergy, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day (our lunch time is 12:25). It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week Events.

Our Positivity Project trait is Fairness-I try to treat others as I would like to be treated.

In Social Studies we will continue with our Needs and Wants unit. When finished your child will come home with his/her

My Economics Vocabulary Book. The concepts learned in this unit are great!

Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Spencer on March 5th. Please come at 3:15 and bring 3-4 books. We are looking forward to our time with you.

Thursday, 3/6, Mrs. Schueneman is coming to give a lesson on nutrition to our kindergarten students. She is a nutritionist (as well as Taylor's mom) and does a beautiful job of teaching in the importance of eating healthy foods to our children. Be sure to ask your child to tell you what he/she learned during this time.

Progress reports will go home with your child on Friday. Please check to be sure the address is correct, sign the envelope and return it to school on Monday. Your child will get a treat when the envelope is returned. 😋

Please be sure to 

• Send a leak-proof, water bottle each day
• Dress your child for the weather of the day-snow pants, boots, hat and mittens
• Empty your child's folder each day
• Return Library books by Tuesday of each week.
• Wear gym shoes each Friday for gym class.

Upcoming Events

Monday, March 17-Brown School Science Night from 5:30-7:00. This is a great night to bring the family and learn about all

things, Science. There are fun interactive things to do and you will amazed at the projects our students have done.

Thursday, March 20-St. Joseph Public Schools Kindergarten Round Up from 7-8:00 pm at Brown School. This is for parents

of incoming kindergartners and young 5 children. Please help us spread the word!
