Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa


Last Week


We finished our NWEA testing last week. Everyone worked hard to do their best. Scores will come home with your child's progress report.


Donuts with Someone was big fun. Thank you for your participation. The children love showing off their special people and of course the donuts 😋. 


Our Library staff was able to see that all the children were able to choose 7 books from the Book Bonanza event. Those unable to come on Wednesday were able to choose books during the school day on Thursday. What a perfect end of the year gift for the children. Enjoy reading them with your child. 


Our SJ graduating seniors who attended Brown School came on Friday for a final walk away. I love this tradition! Our elementary students love it too. They get a preview of what is to come. This day fosters some great discussion too. Your children will be wearing those robes and silly hats before you know it. Enjoy each day with them 💙💛.

Snack and Leaders


Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to an allergy, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day (our lunch time is 12:25). It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week Events.


 I will be assessing 1-1 tomorrow while Mrs. Soyk is teaching our class. I love having this time with each child. 


Please return all Library books tomorrow. We don't have too many still out, but we always shoot for 100% returns.

Thank you for looking for those last few books!


Wednesday is "Step Up Day" for SJ Schools. Our 5th graders will visit Upton, 8th graders will visit the HS and each elementary student will visit the classrooms and teachers from the next grade. This is the first time we have done this district wide and look forward to a wonderful experience for all. 


Our last Guest Reader will be Ms. Valadez, Henry's mom, coming on Wednesday, May 21 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 of your favorite books to share with us. 


Please be sure your child has gym shoes each Friday.

Tuesday, May 27-Brown School Picnic-There are many opportunities to volunteer. This is a really fun day for all!


Thursday, May 29- End of the Year Classroom Party-Our committee is set and working on a great party for our kiddos.

        Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week Thank you all for making the effort to spend time together listening to, encouraging and loving on your children during our conferences. The expectation is that we hold conferences with 100% of our families. I appreciate that you all made that easy for me this year. I really enjoyed our time together. Our turkeys decorating the hallway look wonderful. Each one is unique and the entire Brown School family loves seeing each new one hung. If your child has not done one yet, there is still time.         Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa Last Week It was great to be back together again this week. We enjoyed sharing how we spent our time off. We realized that we really missed each other. 😌 The class did a great job getting right back into the swing of our daily routines and procedures. They are acting like 1st graders more and more each day. 😃  There was an Exterior Lock Down drill on Thursday. It was during our Music time so it was good for our students to practice in a place other than our room.
